How to Plant Seeds in Your Garden

When you are ready to plant a garden, it is important to have all the tools necessary for the job at hand. You need to prepare yourself with pots, soil, seeds, spades, and whatever else you may need for your specific situation. It is important to figure out what types of plants you would like to grow before you begin. You can plant some seeds directly into the soil and they will grow without much effort, but others need a little more care and attention to develop correctly.

If you are growing seeds inside, you need to keep in mind the temperature required for the seeds to sprout and the seedlings to grow. You will have to regulate the temperature and light in addition to giving proper amounts of water. These are all very important for the well being of seedlings.

Once you have a solid foundation and the seedlings are growing, but before moving them into their permanent place in the garden, you need to get the seedling accustomed to their new habitat. For the first couple of days, you need to place them outside in a shaded area. If you notice that the temperature is dropping too low, take them back inside. The next time, you need to put them into a half shaded area with some sun. This way, they will start getting used to their new environment.

Now that the seedlings are ready to be planted outside, make sure to not grab them from the stem but from the leaves when removing them from the pot. If the leaves sustain any damage, they will grow back, but if you damage the stem you will kill the seedling.
